Dr Pranav Ghodgaonkar hailed the Surya Pickleball Tournament held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from March 27 to 29, calling it a remarkable and celebratory milestone for the sport in the state.
Speaking to Pickleball Now, Dr Ghodgaonkar underlined the significance of the tournament. “I think this is a very remarkable and celebratory event. This is the first such event in the state,” he said.

Dr Ghodgaokar also praised the energy surrounding the competition, adding, “Given the facilities in place and the enthusiasm of the participants, I am confident this will continue for years to come.”
The tournament not only showcased a strong competitive spirit but also highlighted its commitment to recognizing young talent. When asked about the awards presented to students, he said, “I would like to acknowledge their achievements and their hard work. It motivates them to play better in the future.”

He further underlined the role of the organizing body in building a sustainable sporting ecosystem. “As we just heard, the association is fully committed to providing the facilities. Arranging coaches, even training coaches, and providing equipment, these are all very positive and strong indications that this sport is going to pick up,” he stated.
Dr Ghodgaokar also expressed confidence that such initiatives would widen the sport’s appeal. “That will drive greater interest among people – a welcome boost for both the city and the state,” he concluded.
