The road to the Pickleball World Cup has officially begun, with the Indian Pickleball Association inviting players across the country to register and compete for a place on the national stage.
In a strong call to action, the governing body urged Indian players to move beyond local circuits and aim for global recognition, with Vietnam set to host the upcoming World Cup. Selection will be based purely on merit.
“This is about grit, sweat, and the dink that changes the game. You don’t get picked; you earn your spot,” read the statement released.
The trials will cover multiple categories, ensuring representation across age groups and competitive levels. These include junior divisions (Under-14 and Under-18), the open category, and senior brackets for players aged 50+ and 60+.
Players must first register under the official IPA structure to be eligible for rankings and subsequent trials. The association also emphasized that the selection pathway is designed to identify the best talent in the country through a structured and transparent process.
“We aren’t looking for lucky breaks. We’re looking for the best,” the statement added, reinforcing its focus on performance-driven selection.
The initiative marks a significant step in India’s growing pickleball ecosystem, as the sport continues to expand rapidly across the country. By introducing a formal ranking and trial system, the IPA aims to streamline talent identification ahead of international competitions.
With the promise of representing India on the global stage, the stakes are high. For aspiring players, the message is simple — earn the jersey.
“Wear the tricolor with pride. Prove India is among the best.”
