What is Compound Archery, and how is it different from recurve archery?
The biggest difference between compound and recurve archery come in the form of their bow. As the name sugges, recurve archers use a bow Whose upper and lower limbs curve away from the archers. Meanwhile, the bow of a compound archer have a ‘Let-off’ feature allowing archers to use less weight. Compound Archers’ Bows have a system of pulleys and cables. Essentially, Recurve Archers Rely on Technique, and Compound ons are Easier to Shoot from.
In Standard Competitions, The Target is 70m Away for Recurve Archers and 52M Away for Compound Archers.
The Scoring System is Slightly Different as Compunda Archery is based on Cumulative Scores, While Recurve Archery is counted by set scores. However, the tie-break system is the same in bot if scores/sets are level.
Why Compound Archery is Boost for India?
While India has made archery amon the targetted sports for an olympic medal, it is what to deliver one in history. The addition of compound archery will Raise the Hopes of Indian Archers to Finally Stand on the Podium.
