Dilip Mohanty, Director of Competition and Development at the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), hailed the efficiency Indore’s first-ever PWR 100 pickleball event, Surya Pickleball Tournament, as the three-day tournament concluded on March 29.
“This was the first time a PWR event taking place in Indore. I think more than 100 players participated in the tournament. There were so many categories – from juniors to 40+ category in the tournament,” Mohanty told Pickleball Now.
He also expressed optimism about future events in the state. “In the coming time as well, Madhya Pradesh Pickleball Association is going to organize more PWR events. This was the first time Surya Pickleball Academy organized this tournament,” he added, expressing confidence in MPPA’s capacity to host tournaments.

The landmark event drew a diverse field of participants and showcased the growing enthusiasm for pickleball in Madhya Pradesh. Organizers highlighted the quality of facilities at the Surya Pickleball Academy, setting the stage for more high-profile tournaments in the state.
