Suryansh Yadav, board member of the Madhya Pradesh Pickleball Association (MPPA), hailed the Surya Pickleball Tournament, a PWR 100 event, as a major success following the conclusion of the three-day tournament in Indore on March 29.
“I would say it was a great success. We had a three-day tournament without any disputes, no fights among players, no issues with referees, and matches were completed smoothly, which is very difficult with so many participants,” Yadav told Pickleball Now.

Talking about the impressive scale of participation, he said, “We played matches till 2 in the night. We had a high number of entries, and participants competed in multiple events, some even playing five.”
Yadav also outlined plans to further develop pickleball in the state. “We started with PWR 100, and our plan is to move to 200, and then 300. We will try to organize more tournaments in Madhya Pradesh, introduce new events, and establish state rankings,” he said.
Emphasizing the need to support local players, he noted, “We want to host PWR 100 and 200 events so that players from our state do not have to travel outside to earn points. To reach a certain level, they should be able to score points here.”
Addressing the financial challenges faced by players, Yadav said, “Players have to spend a lot to play outside, so we don’t want them to bear that. We want them to compete locally and progress towards success.”
