A new indoor pickleball facility has been set up in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle in the United States, with The Picklr launching a 10-court venue at 124 North 35th Street. The 27,000-square-foot club, set up at the former Theo Chocolate site, began operations with a free-to-play opening day opportunity on April 4, according to a report by MyNorthwest.

The facility, developed by North American franchise The Picklr, includes one championship-sized, fully fenced indoor court with outdoor-style surfacing, along with a pro shop and private event space, according to a news release from The Picklr.

To mark the launch, the club hosted a grand opening event from 11 am to 4 pm, offering all-day open play alongside activities such as sessions with professionals and instructors, catered food and beverages, chiropractic services, and raffles, as reported by MyNorthwest.

“Bringing The Picklr to the neighborhood of Fremont in Seattle is a game-changer for our community,” said owner Rajiv Khatri in the release. “As the birthplace of pickleball, Washington holds a special place in the sport’s history, and we’re proud to continue that legacy by offering a best-in-class indoor pickleball experience.”

The club introduced multiple membership options, including a $74 junior unlimited plan for ages 5 to 17, a $109 play membership, a $141 adult unlimited membership, and a $308 family package, according to the release.

Khatri added that the facility was designed to serve a broader purpose within the community. “The Picklr redefines the sport with state-of-the-art facilities, all-inclusive memberships, and a player-first approach that welcomes everyone from beginners to seasoned competitors,” he said. “But more than anything, The Picklr is designed to be Fremont’s third space.”

The Seattle facility is the brand’s third in Washington, following locations in Federal Way and Tacoma, while additional venues continue to emerge across the city. One such project, Pickle at the Palms in the Interbay neighborhood, is expected to open later this summer, according to its official website.

“We couldn’t be more excited to see The Picklr come to life in Fremont,” said Chris Walker, Chief Development Officer of The Picklr, in an email to MyNorthwest. “This has been a market we’ve believed in for a long time.”

With pickleball continuing to grow across the United States, the Fremont venue is expected to play a key role in strengthening the sport’s presence in Seattle while serving as a flagship location for the brand.
