RR In Big Trouble As Staff Caught Using Mobile In Banned PMOA Against RCB

rr in big trouble as staff caught using mobile in banned pmoa against rcb

Rajasthan Royals (RR) could be in serious trouble after a support staff member was seen using a mobile phone during the IPL 2026 clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. According to IPL guidelines, the use of mobile phones and electronic devices is strictly prohibited in the Player and Match Official Area (PMOA), including the dugout and dressing room, to prevent anti-corruption issues. In a video that has gone viral on social media, a support staff member, seated next to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, was seen using a mobile, creating uproar on social media.

How will BCCI react?

If found true, it will be a clear violation of the BCCI Anti-Corruption Code and could invite a heavy penalty for the franchise. The BCCI is yet to react to the video, but now that it’s all over the media, they’ll surely investigate and then decide the further course of action. Since the phone was used by the support staff, he could be fined or banned from entering the PMOA, depending on how severe a breach BCCI considers it to be.

A Day To Remember For Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Meanwhile, it was a day to remember for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who decimated RCB to lead RR to a brilliant win. Chasing 202, Sooryavanshi blasted 78 in 26 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes, to put RR on the brink of a win. The knock took Vaibhav’s tally of runs to 200, and he became the proud owner of the Orange Cap. Vaibhav was aided by Dhruv Jurel, who made 81, to seal the game for the Royals, who continued the winning run and solidified their position at the top of the table.

Despite playing a brilliant innings, Vaibhav was hungry for more. “Sir, if I stay on the wicket, then another 10-20 runs can be made, if we are chasing the target, then we can finish it two overs earlier, or if we set the target, then 10-20 runs can be made more. So I regret that if I am out by playing a loose shot, then the team is going minus, so I just get a little upset that I could have played longer,” Sooryavanshi said.
