Ishan Kishan-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will host Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 27th match of IPL 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The toss will take place at 7:00 PM IST while the first ball will be bowled at 7:30 PM IST. Both teams have won 2 games each. With 2 wins in 5 matches, SRH sit in the fifth spot in the points table. They kicked off their campaign with a defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). They defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in their second game.

Pat Cummins has returned to India but he is not available to play for the Orange Army. The SRH captain is recovering from a back issue he suffered in 2025. He hasn’t played competitive cricket this. Cummins will take over the charge from Kishan upon his return.
“I’m still recovering from a back injury, but it’s good. I’m back bowling in the nets. The IPL is starting soon. I won’t make the start of that, but it shouldn’t be too long before I’m back out there playing. I’m back bowling. I’m bowling basically every third day at the moment. We’ve mapped out a plan to get me right by [the] middle of the tournament, so hopefully, if nothing goes wrong, [I’ll] play the back half plus the finals,” Cummins said before the start of the season.

CSK are in form and are now performing consistently. SRH, on the other hand, have been inconsistent. CSK enter their game against the Orange Army as favourites. CSK’s success will hugely rely on Sanju Samson’s performance.
