Koritepati Vincent and Anjai Pemmasan staged a strong comeback to clinch the Intermediate Men’s Doubles title at the Kerala Open 2026, defeating Sooryadas and Sandeep 10-11, 11-6, 11-5 in a three-game final that shifted momentum after a tight opening set.
The match began on even terms, with both pairs locked in long rallies and cautious shot selection. Sooryadas and Sandeep edged the first game 11-10, capitalizing on a couple of late errors from Vincent and Anjai. Their ability to hold their nerve in key exchanges gave them an early advantage and put the pressure on their opponents.
However, Vincent and Anjai responded with a change in approach in the second game. They started attacking more decisively, especially at the net, cutting down the time their opponents had to react. This shift paid off as they built a steady lead and closed the game 11-6 to level the match.
The deciding game saw Vincent and Anjai carry forward their momentum. Their improved coordination and communication stood out, as they controlled the pace and dictated rallies. Sooryadas and Sandeep, who had looked composed in the first game, struggled to regain control as unforced errors crept in.
Vincent’s placement and Anjai’s finishing ability proved decisive in the final phase, allowing them to pull away and seal the third game 11–5. The comeback highlighted their adaptability and composure under pressure.
While Sooryadas and Sandeep showed strong resistance early on, the final ultimately belonged to Vincent and Anjai, who executed their adjustments effectively to turn the match around and secure the title.
