Arunava Majumder and Rachael Jones delivered one of the most dominant performances of the Kerala Open 2026, overwhelming Swetha Puyalraj and Suryakumar 15-3 to win the Mixed Doubles title.
Right from the first rally, Arunava and Rachael imposed their pace on the match. They played with intent, taking control at the net and finishing points quickly. Their aggressive positioning gave them an early lead, putting immediate pressure on their opponents.
Swetha and Suryakumar tried to respond by slowing the game and building longer rallies, but they struggled to break through the winners’ defence. Arunava’s sharp returns and Rachael’s quick hands at the net made it difficult to find openings.
The gap widened rapidly as the winners continued to press. Their ability to anticipate shots and move as a unit ensured that they stayed one step ahead in most exchanges. Even when rallies extended, they managed to turn defense into attack within a couple of shots.
For Swetha and Suryakumar, the challenge was not just the scoreline but the sustained pressure. They found it hard to gain momentum, as errors crept in while trying to force points.
The 15-3 result highlighted the control Arunava and Rachael had from start to finish. It was a performance built on clarity, coordination, and consistent execution, leaving little room for a comeback.
