Punjab Kings star Prabhsimran Singh broke his silence over a social media rumor claiming that he gained 10 kg of weight over the last month during the 2026 Indian Premier League campaign. The allegations came after reports of unrest in the Shreyas Iyer-led team’s camp following their defeat to the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Monday (May 11).
PBKS started their campaign with a record start as they were unbeaten in the first seven matches (six wins, 1 washout). However, their campaign has gone downhill since then as they have suffered four losses in a row, which has now cast major doubt over their playoff qualification chances.
Prabhsimran Singh’s Cryptic Instagram Story
Prabhsimran hit back at the claims with an Instagram story in which he posted a shirtless picture of himself while using the ‘shush’ emoji, which clearly showed the allegations against him at the post. The photo was taken in Dharamshala.

Punjab Kings Hit Back At Critics
Prabhsimran’s post came after PBKS came to social media in the late hours of Tuesday and claimed that fake stories were being shared ‘for cheap engagement.’
“Criticism, banter, and opinions are part of sport. Fake stories and made-up narratives for cheap engagement are not. We urge everyone to verify facts before spreading misinformation for attention or traction,” said PBKS on X.
Their owner and Bollywood actress Preity Zinta also took to social media and called it a deliberate attempt to spread fake narratives against players and the team.
“There’s a difference between criticism & calculated misinformation. Healthy debate around the game is welcome, but the deliberate spread of fake narratives to damage individuals, the team, or the brand should not & will not be taken lightly. I urge everyone including verified voices & media professionals to exercise responsibility before amplifying unverified information. Thank you,” wrote Zinta on X.
