Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer Yash Dayal talked about missing the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) and said that it was not a personal choice. In a complaint filed in Ghaziabad, Dayal is reportedly accused of sexual exploitation under the guise of marriage. The Allahabad High Court has granted him protection from arrest. Additionally, the Rajasthan High Court refused to grant him relief from arrest in a different case filed in Jaipur, citing the gravity and sensitive nature of the charges made under the POCSO Act.
Dayal stated on the Talk with Manvendra YouTube show that he does not choose to skip the current season since he misses the squad. When the RCB won their first-ever IPL title last season, he played a crucial role in their setup. Dayal will miss IPL 2026 because of ‘a personal situation’, according to RCB’s director of cricket Mo Bobat, who made this announcement during the pre-tournament press conference this year. Additionally, Bobat asserted that the choice was optimal for both Dayal and RCB.
“Obviously, if you are sitting outside. When I watch them on television, sometimes I just get up. But then it is my team, and they haven’t removed me. They kept me on the retain list and didn’t get me a replacement. They probably think that I am an important part. The other thing is that my opting out of this season wasn’t my personal decision. The statement could be controversial, but the decision is always made by the authority. I don’t know. what was the reason was behind RCB’s decision,” he said.
“I miss them a lot. I don’t know if the team misses me, the fans will say that.”
Dayal In Contact With The Management
Dayal also disclosed that he communicates with Dinesh Karthik and the IPL franchise’s management despite being away. “I have been in conversations with the management. I have spoken to the director, and with the coach too, and also Dinesh Karthik. We communicate in intervals, and the connection hasn’t broken. There is no communication gap. Everything is clear and sorted,” he said.
The Sanganer Sadar police station received the report, which was allegedly about a minor. The minor said that after meeting him during an IPL game in Jaipur, she was repeatedly sexually abused over the course of two years. Additionally, the minor accused him of making false promises about a career in cricket and manipulating emotions. These claims are reportedly being investigated by the legal system.
Dayal, who had been signed by the Gorakhpur Lions for INR 7 lakh, was prohibited from playing in the UP T20 League last year following the second case.
