KL Rahul was not included in the India playing XI for the third ODI against Afghanistan. India have been magnificent in the series and won the first two games comprehensively. The final ODI is a great chance for India to bag another clean sweep at home and gain momentum ahead of the important England tour. But it is also an opportunity for Afghanistan to make a statement and show they are still a dangerous team in this format of the game.
Afghanistan won a good toss at the MA Chidambaram Stadium and opted to bat. Indian captain Shubman Gill confirmed that the Men in Blue have made three changes to the playing XI, with Harshit Rana, Harsh Dubey and Prasidh Krishna making a comeback. The changes meant that KL Rahul, Arshdeep Singh and Kuldeep Yadav were left out.
Why KL Rahul, Arshdeep Singh And Kuldeep Yadav Were Left Out
The players were not dropped from the XI, but the fact that India had already won the series and it was important for them to test the bench strength forced the team to make the aforementioned changes. Harshit Rana, who was recently added to the ODI squad, however, failed to get a shot in the XI.
