After defeating Zimbabwe in the first T20I, India are now eyeing a series win early by winning the second game. India and Zimbabwe will meet in the second T20I of the three-match series at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on Saturday (July 24). The Men in Blue registered a dominating seven-wicket win against the hosts by chasing the target of 126 with ease. The Indian bowlers did the job after Shreyas Iyer opted to bowl first and restricted Zimbabwe to 125. Mayank Yadav made a heroic comeback and scalped a wicket on the first ball of the day. He was bestowed with the Player of the Match award for his heroics.
Debutant Ashok Sharma didn’t scalp a wicket in his four-over spell but he only conceded 29 runs. Prince Yadav once again did the job with the ball and scalped two wickets for 19 runs. Shivam Dube and Ravi Bishnoi scalped a wicket each.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi finally delivered the goods in international cricket and he scored 50 off just 19 balls. It’s the same venue where he slammed 175 in the final of the 2026 U19 World Cup.
Abhishek Sharma departed for one while Ishan Kishan scored a vital 35. Captain Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 28 off 24 balls to take India to a win. This was India’s first win under Iyer’s captaincy.
