England batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge has created history and become the first player in the history of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup to achieve a huge feat despite failing to make a big impact on the summit clash against Australia at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in 2026. The opening batter was dismissed for just eight runs in nine balls after crossing a massive milestone.

However, she finished the tournament as the highest run-getter with 302 runs in seven innings. The veteran cricketer made one century and two half-centuries while batting at an exceptional average of 60.40 and a strike-rate of 149.50.

Her tally of 790 runs in 34 matches is now the second-most by an English player. She went past head coach and former captain Charlotte Edwards’ tally. Only Nat Sciver-Brunt is ahead of her in the list with 965 runs in 31 matches.

She started the tournament with a century (105 not out) against Sri Lanka and made half-centuries against the West Indies and New Zealand with knocks of 65 and 89, respectively in the league stage.

Wyatt’s tally of three half-centuries is also the joint-most in a single edition alongside Meg Lanning, Alyssa Healy, Nat Sciver Brunt, and Beth Mooney (thrice).

Talking about the match, England posted a total of 150 on the board with Nat (58 of 55) and Freya Kemp (44 of 25) playing impactful knocks.
