Rovman Powell Injuries Himself While Taking Catch, Walks Off Field During LSG vs KKR Tie

rovman powell injures himself while taking catch, walks off field during lsg vs kkr tie

Star West Indies player Rovman Powell suffered a ‘nasty’ injury while taking a catch during the LSG vs KKR match in IPL 2026 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on April 26. The Kolkata Knight Riders’ player took Mitchell Marsh’s catch successfully but fell awkwardly on his left hand, which forced him to leave the field. The physios rushed to the field to check on him as he appeared to have hurt his left elbow. However, he was able to walk out of the field on his own despite being clearly in pain.

This comes after suffering a severe wrist injury in July 2025 while trying to catch against Australia, which prevented him from playing in the T20I series against Pakistan.

Rinku Singh Helps KKR Post 155/7

Despite Mohsin Khan’s outstanding 5/23 in their IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Rinku Singh delivered an incredible unbeaten 83 under pressure as KKR bounced back and posted a fighting total of 155/7. Vice-captain Rinku started the late rally, hitting four straight sixes in the last over to reach a career-high 83 off 51 deliveries (7 fours, 5 sixes), which lifted them from 93/7 after 15 overs.

With Mohsin collecting his first five wickets, KKR had yet another batting breakdown, with Cameron Green (34) being the only other batsman to score in double figures.
