RCB vs DC, Toss Report: DC Opt To Bowl, Virat Kohli Returns

royal challengers bengaluru vs delhi capitals toss report dc opt to bowl, virat kohli returns

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are hosting Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 26th match of IPL 2026. The match is taking place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. DC won the toss and opted to bowl first. They haven’t made any changes in their playing XI. DC have suffered two back-to-back defeats and are aiming to return to winning ways. They lost to Chennai Super Kings in their previous game on April 11. They are making their on-field return after a week. “I am going to bowl first. The wicket looks nice and hard,” DC captain Axar Patel said.

“Since it’s a day game, it might be a bit slow. Also, Chinnaswamy is usually a chasing ground, so we would like to chase. That’s why we decided to bowl first. We are going with the same XI,” he added.

RCB captain Rajat Patidar announced that they are also playing with the same side. Virat Kohli, who played the previous fixture as an Impact Player is part of RCB’s playing XI. There is no clear word whether Kohli is playing this game as an Impact Player or not.

RCB will use Impact Player

RCB pacer Rasikh Salem is in the list of Impact Players and he will walk into the playing XI in the second innings. He could also replace Kohli. The former RCB captain suffered a knee issue in the league stage game against Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 12. He didn’t come out to the field in MI’s chase.

Kohli played the next game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as an Impact Player. He was spotted running before the start of the game and seems fit for the fixture.

RCB are second in the points table and a win over DC will see them move to the top spot in the points table. The defending champions have 8 points at an NRR of +1.503. DC is in the sixth spot. They have 2 wins from 4 matches.
