The time of India has reported that the selection meeting is planning a long-term Captaincy Transition. Shubman is leading Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025 and is the present Vice-Captain of the White-Ball teams.
“He has shown impressive Leadership Qualities in the way He Has LED GT, Who are currently Topping The Table This Season,” A Source Told Toi.
Gautam Gambhir might have a Crucial Role In Deciding the new captain as he will work closely with the person in charge of the test team. Toi has reported that Shubman Visited Gambhir’s Delhi Residence for Lunch and The Duo Spoke for 4 to 5 hours. Shubman has been been part of the Leadership group in Test Cricket. He has been punjab state team in the Ranji Trophy.
Rishabh pant is likely to be named Shubman’s Deputy. He has been a regular in the test team since his debut in 2018 and is a strong connection to join the Leadership Group.
Rishabh has captained India in T20i Cricket and is presented LuckNow Super Giants (LSG) In IPL 2025. All -Rounder Shardul Thakur is likely to make his test comeback with whombacks Iyer’s return. Shardul missed out on a place in the squad for the border-gavaskar trophy.
