Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli wrote a special message for the country’s future poster boy. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after the Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by six wickets in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday (April 13) at the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The Royals remained unbeaten in the tournament with their fourth win in as many games, while the defending champions lost their first game of the season.
Sooryavanshi was the star of the show with this second half-century of the season. The 15-year-old once again reached the milestone in just 15 balls. The left-hander won the Player of the Match (POTM) award for a knock of 78 runs in just 26 balls, which came at a strike rate of 300. He hit eight boundaries and seven maximums.

After the match, Kohli signed Sooryavanshi’s cap and wrote a heartwarming four-word message. ‘Dear, Vaibhav. Well done.’ wrote Kohli.
Sooryavanshi now also holds the orange cap in the 2026 IPL, as he went past teammate and opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal in the elite list. The teenager now has 200 runs in just four matches at an average of 50 with two half-centuries to his name. He has scored the runs at a strike-rate of 266.66
Talking about yesterday’s match, RR won the toss after a delayed start due to rain and chose to bowl first. The Bengaluru-based outfit registered a total of 201 on the board despite being 94-6 at one stage. Kohli made a promising start but suffered a rare failure to convert it into a big score. Ravi Bishnoi dismissed the 37-year-old for a 16-ball 32. In reply, the Royals reached the target with 12 balls to spare. Dhruv Jurel was the top-scorer with an unbeaten 43-ball 81.
