Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was on fire against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and scored a 36-ball century. The 15-year-old scored 103 in 37 balls, including five fours and 12 sixes to knock the stuffing out of SRH bowlers and help the team post 228-6. The total, however, did not prove enough as SRH completed an easy chase, courtesy of a 132-run partnership for the second wicket between Abhishek Sharma (57) and Ishan Kishan (74).
Meanwhile, a video has gone viral on social media where Ishan Kishan was seen gazing at Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as he celebrated his stunning century.
"ours are ours"❤️When Vaibhav Suryavanshi was greeting him politely after scoring a century, Ishaan Kishan was standing quietly and looking at Vaibhav with calmness, like someone looks at his love from a distance! Bihari Brotherhood 🫂❤️#IshanKishan #VaibhavSooryavanshi pic.twitter.com/YrkEgBi5ig

After the game, Ishan Kishan showered praise on Sooryavanshi and said that the Royals could have crossed the 250-run mark had Vaibhav stayed at the wicket till the end.

“I was just telling him about the madness with which he is batting and how he is hitting. Sometimes, you are even scared thinking about what the scorecard could have looked like if he had stayed for a few more overs. So, it was important for us to get his wicket. It was 228; it could have easily been 258,” said Kishan while speaking on JioHotstar’s ‘Google Search AI Mode Match Center Live’.
Kishan hilariously said that he told Vaibhav to go easy against his team, and he is aware of all his secrets and inside stories.
“Cricket is all about comebacks. We got him out and made a little comeback there. That’s what I told him, ‘When I am playing against you, please go a little easy on my team. I know all your secrets and inside stories,” he added.

Update On Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Meanwhile, Vaibhav picked up an injury during the SRH innings and limped off the field. He has been the cornerstone of Rajasthan Royals’ dominant run in the IPL 2026, and the injury left the camp worried. There were speculations that Vaibhav might have pulled his hamstring and might even have to sit out of the clash against the Punjab Kings on April 28. RR batting coach Vikram Rathour provided an update on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and revealed that the youngster seems to be doing fine. He said a clear update on his fitness will be out in a day or two, but he looks fine.
“He was feeling something in his hamstring, but now he’s looking okay. They’ve treated him, so he’s looking fine. We’ll know in a day or two, but it doesn’t look like anything serious,” Rathour told reporters in the post-match press conference.
Mohammad Kaif Lauds Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Meanwhile, former India cricketer Mohammed Kaif was also in awe of Vaibhav and called him a once-in-a-generation talent.
“Vaibhav Suryavanshi is a once-in-a-generation talent. At just 15, he is making the best bowlers in the IPL look ordinary. He smashed four sixes in a row off Praful Hinge. Hinge had dismissed him last time in Hyderabad, but here in Jaipur, Suryavanshi was on a mission to settle the score, and he did so in dominating fashion. He even hit the first ball he faced from Pat Cummins for a massive six. He is a fearless prodigy who’s dominating the IPL like he is playing gully cricket,” said Kaif.
Kaif said that his IPL hundreds have come at a strike rate of over 250, which shows his positive mindset, saying that he doesn’t care who he is facing, and goes with the flow. Kaif said that Vaibhav plays like a veteran who has played international cricket for 10 years.
“Two hundreds in two seasons, both at a strike-rate above 250. That tells you everything about his mindset. He doesn’t care about the name of the bowler or the match situation. He just keeps attacking. He bats like a veteran who has played international cricket for ten years. His ability to pick the length early, his balance at the crease, and his raw power are all world-class. He also has a calm head on his young shoulders. That is a rare combination. If he stays fit, stays hungry, and keeps his focus, Indian cricket has found its next superstar for the next 20 to 25 years,” he added.
