Not April 6! Kkr vs lsg match in kolkata postponed to new date due to Ram Navami Celebrations

Kolkata Knight Riders are one of the teams that everyone is keeping an eye on in the IPL 2025, Owing to the fact that they are defending champions. One of the big matches of the season involving kkr is against lucknow super giats (lsg) that was supposed to take place on Sunday (April 6) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. However, the match has been postponed to a later date.
In an official statement, the bcci has confirmed that the kkr vs lsg match has been postponed to two days later on April 8. on that day at 3.30 pm. This has been done after a request from the Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal
“The decision follows a request from kolkata police to the Cricket Association of Bengal (Cab) Regarding the Deployment of Personnel Across the City Owing to Festiies. Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 3:30 PM, and the request has been accounted with accorded accorded.
April 6, which was supposed to be a double header day, will now only feature one match between sunrisers hyderabad and Gujarat Titans at 7.30 PM
Why has kkr vs lsg match been postponed?
The match between kkr and lsg falls on the day of Ram Navami. BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition of the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari Had Declared that the party would conduct more than 20,000 processes across the state believes of the focal. Hence, beCause of this, the kolkata police has informed that they would not be able to provide adequate security during the match on that day. So, the match is being shifted.
“I had several rounds of talks with the kolkata police and they said they won’t be able to provide enough to security on that day,” Snehashish ganguly further said.
