Star India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will not play in the two-match T20I series against Ireland, which begins in Belfast on June 26. Reddy’s quadriceps injury, which prevented him from playing in the second ODI against Afghanistan in Lucknow, has reportedly flared up and needs to be treated before he can return to action. At this point, it is unclear when exactly he will return. It is unclear if Reddy’s injury will prevent him from playing in the ODIs and T20Is against England as well. He will not be going to Ireland with the team as things stand.

A source close to the development told Times Now that an MRI scan has revealed swelling along with fiber disruption in Reddy’s left quadriceps. Following the assessment, he has been advised to report to the Center of Excellence (CoE) for further evaluation and management. A detailed recovery timeline will be determined after additional medical examinations. BCCI has not announced any replacement yet.
