Oba Femi continued his rapid rise in WWE and defeated Jey Uso to be crowned the King of the Ring. The Ruler pinned Jey in the opening match of the Night of Champions to win the crown. Femi has been unstoppable since his main roster debut and the KOTR win has now earned him a title match at SummerSlam. He could either challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship or the Undisputed WWE Championship. Cody Rhodes is the current WWE Champion but he could lose it in the main event of Night of Champions.
Femi was always the favorite to defeat Jey and he dominated the former World Heavyweight Champion. Femi showed his dominance when he didn’t let the referee count one when Jey hit him with a splash. Femi powerbombed Jey before completing the pin.
There are high chances of Femi challenging Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of SummerSlam. Reigns won the title with a win over CM Punk at Night of Champions and has defended it twin since then.
The OTC defeated Jacob Fatu at Backlash. He retained the title against Fatu in the main event of Clash in Italy as well. As a result, Fatu acknowledged him and joined the Bloodline.
Oba Femi’s memorable year
Femi, who made his main roster debut at Roster debut in February 2026, answered Brock Lesnar’s open challenge for Wrestlemania 42 and defeated him. The defeated forced Lesnar to end his in-ring career.
However, Lesnar made his in-ring return a month later and defeated Femi at Clash in Italy. Femi qualified for the final of the Kin of the Ring and also won the crown. He is a former NXT Champion. He didn’t lose the title and instead, relenquished it before moving to the main roster.
Surprisingly, Lesnar didn’t make his return at Night of Champions. He could now return at SummerSlam and cost Femi during his maiden world championship match.
