Protein Shakes, Pickleball and Family: Young Brothers Show Winning Habits Beyond the Court

protein shakes, pickleball and family: young brothers show winning habits beyond the court

For many young athletes, celebrations after victory usually involve treats or a cheat meal. Atharv and Advik prefer something much simpler.

The sibling duo, competing at the North Zone PWR 700 tournament, credits discipline, healthy eating and family support for their growing journey in pickleball. Their introduction to the sport also came from within the family.

“Actually, our father introduced us to pickleball. I was playing tennis, but my father told me pickleball was a better sport and that I should give it a try. That’s how I started,” Atharv said while talking to Pickleball Now.

Their approach to winning is equally underestimated. “We don’t do anything special. It’s just a normal ‘Come on, let’s go.’ We always try to stay humble,” Advik said when asked about celebrating victories.

The biggest routine comes after the match rather than before it. “After playing pickleball, I usually have a protein shake made with milk, protein powder and bananas. Sometimes I also eat eggs,” Atharv revealed.

Advik follows almost the same recovery plan. “Me too. I enjoy my protein shake after matches, and I like eating a healthy diet with eggs and other nutritious food,” he said.

As pickleball continues to attract younger players across India, Atharv and Advik represent a generation that is treating the sport with increasing professionalism. Their focus extends beyond practice sessions to recovery, nutrition and consistency.

Introduced to the game by their father, the brothers are keeping their formula simple. Play hard, stay humble, eat well and let performances on the court do the talking.
