David Warner Seemingly Mocks DC Owner Over Rishabh Pant Homecoming

david warner seemingly mocks dc owner over rishabh pant homecoming

David Warner’s cryptic response to Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal’s post on X went viral after Rishabh Pant’s return to the franchise was confirmed following a trade from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The same deal saw Kuldeep Yadav leave the one-time runners-up and join the Sanjiv Goenka-owned franchise.

Jindal took to social media and expressed gratitude towards Kuldeep for his services towards the franchise in a post on social media. He welcomed back Pant to their fold and expressed confidence he will return to his best while playing for them again.

“Dear Kuldeep thank you for your service over the last 5 years @DelhiCapitalsyou have been a core part of our t team and you will be sorely missed. Go well – you are a champion player and I am sure you will do extremely well back in your home ground. Rishabh – Kiran and I are both happy to have you back at DC. Hope you can find your best form back home in Delhi,” wrote Jindal on X.

Did David Warner Mock Delhi Capitals?

Warner, who played for the Capitals in the past (2009-2013 and 2022-2024), commented on the post with laughing emojis. His cryptic reply went viral over social media. He put out another comment in which he stated this was a move that was always going to happen.

“It was always going to happen. Auctions can get out of hand, and if there is a dip in form and one owner wants to get rid of you while the other wanted you but was unfortunately outbid, you can bide your time,” said Warner on X.

Warner played under Pant’s captaincy at the Capitals in 2022 and 2024. He also led them in 2023 when the star Indian wicketkeeper-batter missed out as he was out of action following his near-fatal road accident.

Pant started his IPL career at the Delhi-based franchise in 2016 and stayed with them till 2024. He even captained them from the 2021 season. However, the 2024 T20 World Cup winner decided against being retained ahead of the 2025 mega auction, where LSG signed him for a record deal of ₹27 crores.
