He has declared Tilak Verma ineligible to play in the Indian team on the basis of his observations made in three series after the World Cup. In his place, he has advocated bringing captain Rajat Patidar, who made RCB the champion twice, in the team.

Kris Srikkanth criticized Tilak Verma’s approach of playing dot balls continuously. His slow batting in the middle order has a negative impact on the team. Srikkanth criticized Tilak’s innings, comparing him to Rajat Patidar and suggested that the two-time IPL winning captain deserves a chance before the current Indian vice-captain. Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel, “Once again Tilak played nine balls. He cannot bowl fast for long. Where is his consistency? Tell me? What did he do in England? Sometimes he plays one or two good innings.” While comparing him with Rajat Patidar, the former selector simply said that Tilak Verma is nothing compared to him. He said- “He (Tilak Verma) is nothing in front of Rajat Patidar. If you want to play a strong innings in T20, then give a chance to Patidar. All the players like Yash Thakur are getting opportunities, give him a chance too.” Tilak scored 6 unbeaten runs on 5 balls in the first T20 International match, after which he played an aggressive innings of 60 runs on 29 balls in the second match. In the third match he scored 11 runs. India defeated Zimbabwe by 7 wickets, 90 runs and 35 runs in all three matches.
Abhishek Sharma also criticized, demand to feed Sanju
Along with Tilak, Kris Srikkanth also criticized Abhishek Sharma. Talking about Abhishek, he said – “Since the World Cup, Abhishek Sharma has cemented his place in international cricket. I think now a tough decision will have to be taken against him. I think Sanju will get a chance again. He will definitely be called back to the team. The selectors will have to take a tough decision.” In his last 10 innings, Abhishek has scored only 191 runs, which includes one half-century.
