Delhi Capitals Get Mitchell Starc Boost In IPL 2026 – Check Return Date

Delhi Capitals get massive Mitchell Starc boost in IPL 2026 - check return date

Delhi Capitals (DC) have received a big boost as pacer Mitchell Starc has been cleared by Cricket Australia to play in the IPL 2026. Starc is expected to be available for the DC’s upcoming fixture against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on May 1. DC have had a mixed start to the IPL 2026, winning three and losing as many, and Starc’s return will provide the much-needed firepower to the DC side.

“Starc is expected to build up his workloads on the ground in India and is on track to make his debut for the 2026 season in Delhi’s May 1 match against Rajasthan Royals,” Cricket.com.au reported.

Why Starc Missed Initial Games Of IPL 2026

Starc missed the initial leg of the IPL due to elbow and shoulder issues he picked up during the Australian summer. Speculations were rife that Starc might miss the IPL, which led to the pacer addressing the concerns.

“Despite the opinions and views of certain individuals with their platforms in and through the Indian media, I’m currently rehabbing and managing an injury in my shoulder and elbow,” Starc had said.

“These individuals have made some strong statements around involvement in the IPL and provided heavily misinformed opinions of players, preached them as facts, and claim to know my body better than me,” he added.

Starc last played in the Big Bash League after leading the Australian attack during the Ashes. Starc played all five games during the Ashes and won the player of the match award. Starc was the Capitals’ best performer last year, picking 14 wickets in 11 matches.

Before playing RR, the Capitals will take on the Punjab Kings on April 25 and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 27. DC would be keen to win those games and strengthen their position in the points table.
