Nat Sciver-Brunt-led England will host Sophie Molineux in the final of the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup at Lord’s Cricket Ground. The fixture will kick off at 8:00 PM IST, with the toss taking place at 7:30 PM IST. England are aiming to end their 17-year-wait to win the trophy for the second time. Interestingly, they won the maiden trophy when the inaugural edition of the tournament was played in England in 2009. The 2026 edition is also taking place in England.
Australia have won the trophy six times in the past. They have won three back-to-back titles twice and are eyeing their seventh title win. No other team has won the elusive trophy more than once.
The six-time champions will hope that Ellyse Perry is fit for the fixture. A complete package on the field, Perry is a key member of the Australian team. “The group feels really calm; that’s all we could really ask for. We’ll just make sure we do that over the next 24 hours and make sure we turn up here tomorrow having not had played the game 1,000 times in our heads,” Australia captain Sophie Molineux said on the eve of the final.
With 294 runs, England’s Danni Wyatt-Hodge is the tournament’s highest run-scorer. She has slammed one century and two half-centuries in the tournament. No other England batsman has scored more than 200 runs. Sophie Ecclestone and Charlotte Dean have been England’s star performers with the ball, with nine scalps each.
Ellyse Perry tops the run-scoring charts for Australia. She has scored 185 runs in sx innings. Captain Molineux tops the wicket-taking charts with 10 scalps.
