Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) displaced Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to become the top-place team in the IPL 2026 points table. The IPL 2022 Champions registered a big 82-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 56th match of the season. With 8 wins and 4 defeats in 12 matches, GT now sits in the top. They have 16 points at an NRR of +0.551. RCB have now moved down to the second spot. The defending IPL Champions have 7 wins and 4 defeats in 11 matches. RCB have 14 points at an NRR of +1.103.
RCB had become the top-placed team with a win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in their previous fixture. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) moved down by one place and now sit in the third position.
The IPL 2016 Champions have 7 wins in 12 matches. They have 14 points at an NRR of +0.331. A win over GT would have seen SRH finish the day in the top position.
“They (GT pacers) bowled really well. Pretty happy when we walked off. Tricky wicket, they bowled well. Try to look for ways to get through that spell maybe. Looked like a tough wicket when you hit that back of a length. Maybe we could have held our lengths a little longer. But that is as good a T20 bowling (performance) as you can see from them. Our batting has been fantastic, so not reading too much into that. Guys have gone really well. This happens in T20 cricket,” SRH captain Pat Cummins said after the game.

Last-placed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have already been eliminated from the tournament along with ninth-placed Mumbai Indians (MI). Kolkata Knight Riders sit in the 8th spot. Wiht 5 wins in 12 matches, Delhi Capitals are still alive in the tournament, but they have bleak chances of making it to the playoffs.
