In 2020, Sanjay Manjrekar was removed from the BCCI commentary panel for India’s ODI series against South Africa. The decision was taken after several controversial incidents of 2019, including a dispute with fellow commentator Bhogle, sarcasm on Sourav Ganguly and calling all -rounder Ravindra Jadeja “BITS and Peace Player”.
A few days before the start of IPL 2016, Bhogle was removed from the commentary roster without any clarification. Then Bhogle wrote on his Facebook page, ‘I still don’t know why I am not commenting in IPL.
