Mumbai Indians gave first opportunity
A year after Hardik Pandya was signed, Mumbai Indians bought his elder brother Krunal Pandya for two crore rupees in the IPL 2016 auction. Krunal scored 237 runs in his first IPL season at a strike rate of 191.12 and took six wickets. The next year his strike rate fell, but remained more effective than the ball. In the final of IPL 2017, Player of the Match was scored by scoring 47 runs in 38 balls.

Became IPL champion twice
In 2018, Mumbai bought him back for Rs 8.80 crore in auction. He retained his place in the middle order of Mi and won the title in 2019 and 2020, scoring winning runs in the final against Delhi Capitals (DC) in 2020. Krunal returned to the auction in 2022 when two new teams joined the ground, and they were bought by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for INR 8.25 crore. He played his role in taking LSG to the IPL playoffs in his first two seasons.
