In a rain-shortened match at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, the Lucknow Super Giants defeated the Royal Challengers Bengaluru by nine runs to record their first home victory of the season. In a touching scene during the game, Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka was spotted patiently waiting to speak with RCB’s legendary batsman Virat Kohli, who was chatting with New Zealand batter and LSG’s strategic advisor Kane Williamson.

Goenka and his grandson were observed patiently waiting for Kohli’s autograph, even telling a service member not to go bother the two batting giants. The incident’s video has been circulating on social media and has gone viral.
Williamson, a strategic advisor at LSG, and Kohli were conversing in a video that went viral on social media. Goenka and his grandson arrived, but they halted when they saw Williamson and Kohli.
Goenka’s grandson is a huge fan of star batsman Virat Kohli. LSG media manager even tried to call Kohli for Goenka, but the 65-year-old declined to interrupt the two, setting a great example in front of the small child. Kohli met Goenka after finishing his conversation with Williamson, greeted the LSG owner and the child.
The former captain of the RCB greeted the two and gave the child his autograph. Goenka had the opportunity to interrupt and ask Kohli during the latter’s talk with Williamson, but he decided against it. Earlier, in a rain-shortened match that was shortened to 19 overs each side, LSG defeated RCB by nine runs. It was only LSG’s third victory of the year.
Following infractions in the ongoing IPL 2026, the BCCI issued a 10-point diktat on Friday for players, support personnel, club administrators, and owners to follow. The document outlined the violations of the sanctity of Players’ and Match Officials’ Access (PMOA) committed by anonymous team owners.
“The BCCI has noted with concern that certain IPL franchise owners have not adhered to the Players and Match Officials Access (PMOA) protocol during the course of the matches. Specifically instances have been observed of IPL franchise owners attempting to communicate with, approach, hug, or otherwise physically interact with players during live match situations. Such conduct however well-intentioned, directly contravenes established protocol and may constitute interference with team dynamics and match proceedings,” the document. read as reported by PTI.
