India defeated Singapore 25-0 with an incredible onslaught in their final Pool A encounter of the Women’s U18 Asia Cup to seal the spot in the semifinals. India ended the pool stage with an all-win record and won Pool A on their route to the semifinals thanks to the decisive victory on Tuesday. 10 different players, including Nous Nazheen, who scored seven goals (8′, 13′, 17′, 18′, 40′, 52′, and 58′), demonstrated India’s attacking depth.
‘Player of the Match’ Geethasri Nammi scored five goals (13′, 28′, 47′, 48′, 60′), while captain Sweety Kujur scored four (2′, 24′, 38′, 45′). Along with Priyanka Minz’s hat-trick (22′, 37′, 53′), the attack was completed by Diya (27′), Nancy Saroha (36′), Shruti Kumari (40′), Pushpa Manjhi (47′), Rashmeen Kaur (47′), and Sandeepa Kumari (51′).
India Dominated From The Start
India’s skipper Sweety opened the scoring in the second minute itself, demonstrating their intentions right away. In the eighth minute, Nousheen increased the lead, and in the 13th, Geethasri and Nousheen scored once again to give India complete control. In the second quarter, Nousheen scored two more goals in quick succession, while Priyanka and Sweety increased India’s lead before halftime. The Indian team was still dominating the game.
India Continued The Domination In 2nd Half
Early in the third quarter, Diya and Geethasri scored, and as India destroyed the opposition’s defence, Nancy, Priyanka, Sweety, Nousheen, and Shruti all broke through the Singapore post. India added eight more goals in the last quarter while keeping up the pressure. Sweety finished with four goals, Geethasri added three more to reach five, and Nousheen finished with an incredible seven goals.
As India finished one of the most impressive performances at the U18 level, Pushpa, Rashmeen, Sandeepa, and Priyanka also scored.
India finished first in Pool A with nine points and a perfect record after defeating Malaysia, Korea, and Singapore. Their semifinal opponents will be revealed after the Pool B matches are finished later in the day.
