Sofia Sewing has wasted little time making an impact in her Major League Pickleball (MLP) debut season. After joining both the PPA Tour and MLP in 2026 following a successful career in APP Tour, the Palm Beach Royals player has quickly become one of the league’s most reliable performers, helping strengthen her team’s campaign ahead of MLP Mid-Season and playoffs.
Before her MLP debut, Sewing said she wanted to “test the waters” in the team based format. Just a few months into the season, those words turned into a solid promise. As of late June, she held a 30-13 win-loss record across MLP matches and ranked 13th in the MLP individual player standings, reflecting how smoothly she has adapted to one of the highly competitive professional pickleball leagues in the world.
One of the biggest reasons behind that success has been her partnership with Tina Pisnik in women’s doubles. The duo delivered a perfect 6-0 record during a weekend at MLP St. Petersburg in women’s doubles matches, establishing themselves as one of the Palm Beach Royals’ most dependable team. Their consistency has given the Royals valuable points in a format where every match contributes to the team’s overall standings.
Her contributions have also come in other events. Strong performances in Dallas and New York helped the Royals stay competitive throughout the season. The team currently sits sixth in the MLP standings, and Sewing has played an important role in that journey.
Her rise also reflects another trend across MLP in 2026 due to the entries from the APP Tour, PPA Australia and the junior circuit, with players like Sewing making an immediate impact in the competition. Her transition has highlighted how athletes from different professional pathways can quickly adjust to MLP’s team format.
Sewing’s steady performances, strong partnership with Pisnik and ability to adapt to the league’s team format have made her an important player for the Palm Beach Royals. As the season moves towards the mid-season tournament and playoffs, expectations will be high to perform with same consistency.
