Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka and veteran Gael Monfils have been given a wild-card entry to the French Open 2026. Meanwhile, the 39-year-old Monfils reached the semifinals in Paris in 2008. Wawrinka and Monfils will be honored after their final matches at Roland Garros.
Along with the veterans, Nishesh Basavareddy, Titouan Droguet, Hugo Gaston, Arthur Gea, Moise Kouame, and Adam Walton were also given wild card entries by the French Open organizers in the singles draw.
Wawrinka reached a career-best ranking of World No.3 and beat Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic when both were ranked number 1 to win his three Grand Slams. After defeating Novak Djokovic to win his only French Open title, he beat Rafael Nadal to win the 2014 Australian Open, and beat Novak to win the Australian Open in 2016. He also won men’s doubles gold alongside Roger Federer in the 2008 Olympics and the 2014 Davis Cup title for Switzerland.
