Punjab Kings (PBKS) had a dream start to the IPL 2026, where they went unbeaten for 7 straight games, winning six of them. However, after that they absolutely crumbled losing the next four games in a row. Amodst this, there have been several reports regarding the inside of the PBKS dressing room. Yuzvendra Chahal was apparently seen vaping on a team flight. On the other hand, opener Prabhsimran Singh’s weight and fitness issues also came to light. Now, the franchise and owner Priety Zinta have issued strict warnings to people spreading what they feel is misinformation.

In a strong-worded post on X, Punjab Kings warned anyone ad everyone to stop spreading misinformation for traction. In fact, they even highlighted ‘sports journalists’, before deleting the two words to avoid controversy.

“Criticism, banter, and opinions are part of sport. Fake stories and made-up narratives for cheap engagement are not. We urge everyone, especially “sports journalists”, to verify facts before spreading misinformation for attention or traction,” they had posted at first, but then edited the post later, removing the words sports journalists.

Priety Zinta Fires Warning

Resharing the X post, Priety Zinta slammed the fake narratives, calling it calculated misinformation. She also said that such narratives that intend to damage the brand and players of Punjab Kings will be dealt with a heavy hand.

“There’s a difference between criticism & calculated misinformation. Healthy debate around the game is welcome, but the deliberate spread of fake narratives to damage individuals, the team, or the brand should not & will not be taken lightly. I urge everyone — including verified voices & media professionals — to exercise responsibility before amplifying unverified information. Thank you,” he said.

PBKS In Danger Of Losing Playoff Spot

PBKS suffered their fourth loss in a row, when they were defeated by Delhi Capitals (DC) in their first game at Dharamsala by a margin of five wickets.

PBKS remained on 13 points from 11 games, as they lost their fourth consecutive game in the tournament. They remain on the 4th spot of the points table, and if they continue their slump, they have a very big chance to get knocked out of the IPL 2026.
